Shareholder Stephanie Turk Inducted as Fellow of the Federal Bar Association (FBA) Foundation and Elected Chair of the National FBA Civics, Service, and Outreach Committee
MIAMI, FL – Stearns Weaver Miller announced that Shareholder Stephanie Turk was inducted as a Fellow of the Federal Bar Association (FBA) Foundation. Fellowship is an honor accorded to only 1.8 percent of Federal Bar Association members, and it is predicated on an individual’s demonstrated exceptional commitment to, and leadership within, the FBA and the legal community.
Stephanie was also appointed Chair of the National FBA Civics, Service, and Outreach Committee, which is responsible for coordinating, implementing, and assisting efforts to serve and support the communities in which members practice. The Committee coordinates civics efforts among FBA entities and members of the federal judiciary and other civics organizations to advance understanding of the rules of law and address national deficiencies in civics education. Annually, the Committee hosts a national Civics Day, which kicks off the FBA’s Annual Meeting and Convention, and helps to educate and impact hundreds of local students.
In addition to her involvement on the national level, Stephanie has been a dedicated leader for her local Bar Chapter. Stephanie served on the Executive Board for the FBA South Florida Chapter from 2020-2025, including as Immediate Past President, President, President-Elect, Treasurer and Secretary. The South Florida Chapter is the third largest federal bar association chapter in the country, and the largest chapter in the Eleventh Circuit. Under her leadership, the chapter was recognized with various awards. Stephanie has served as a member of the Board of Directors and as the Chapter’s Civics Liaison (a national and local role) since 2017, and as the past Co-Chair of the Chapter’s Civics and Community Outreach Committee. In 2022, the FBA South Florida Chapter recognized Stephanie with an award for her Outstanding Service to the Civil Discourse and Difficult Decisions Program (“CD3”).
Last year, Stephanie was appointed to serve on two distinguished legal committees. She serves on the Florida Bar Federal Court Practice Committee, which acts as the Bar’s liaison to the federal courts, federal bar organizations in Florida, the Eleventh Circuit Judicial Conference, and others interested in federal practice. For 2025-2026, Stephanie serves as the Co-Chair of the Federal Judicial Roundtable program, which is hosted at the annual meeting of the Florida Bar. Stephanie also serves on the Planning Committee for the 2026 Eleventh Circuit Judicial Conference, set to take place in South Florida in May 2026. The Conference will be convened by the judges of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit (Florida, Alabama, and Georgia) to consider the business of the courts and to discuss means of improving the administration of justice within the circuit.
Stephanie is a Shareholder in the Labor & Employment Department. She has experience in both Employment Litigation and Employment Counseling. Stephanie has been ranked as one of The Best Lawyers in America, a legal ranking publication, since 2023.
