Today, the U.S. Department of Treasury published the final approved list of designated census tracts for the next round of Qualified Opportunity Zones (OZ 2.0). As expected, Governor DeSantis nominated 25% of the eligible low-income census tracts in Florida (342 of the 1,368 eligible tracts), which is the maximum allowed under the 2025 Reconciliation Act, also known as the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA). The benefits flowing to investments made pursuant to OZ 2.0 in these newly certified tracts will take effect on January 1, 2027, and will remain in effect for one decade or December 31, 2036. As a reminder, the zones previously in effect under OZ 1.0 will expire on December 31, 2028.

For more information, please see the joint Press Release issued by the US Treasury & IRS and the additional resources provided by Treasury, such as the official list and a map of the designated Qualified Opportunity Zones.
