Overview

We are very proud of the landmark legal victories achieved for our clients, but we are equally proud of our firm’s commitment to philanthropy and community service.  Our commitment to the community is extensive. We provide significant financial, leadership and pro bono support to a myriad of not-for-profit organizations impacting the arts, community services, children and families, education, health, legal services and public interest. In addition, the firm participates in community programs that impact lives countless ways.

  • The firm has contributed over $2.5 million to not-for- profit organizations in the last five years.
  • The firm spearheads firm-wide donation campaigns in response to catastrophic events, at the holidays, for cancer research, and during Hunger Action Month.
  • The firm regularly hosts events for community and professional organizations in our offices, including:
    • An America Jewish Committee event addressing anti-semitism.
    • A West Point Society event featuring former general David Petraeus.
    • A Pathway to Judicial Clerkship forum for minority law students in conjunction with the Wilkie D. Ferguson, Jr. Bar Association.
  • We encourage our employees to become active members and leaders of the organizations they champion.
  • Firm attorneys serve on the boards of more than 50 not-for-profit organizations.
  • Firm attorneys serve on committees, volunteer, and engage in fundraising activities for countless organizations striving to make a difference in our communities.
  • The Florida Bar limits pro bono service to work on behalf of the indigent and organizations whose primary purpose is to serve the indigent.
  • Additional pro bono legal services are regularly provided to not-for- profit organizations whose mission does not meet the Florida Bar’s definition of pro bono legal services, including arts organizations and community foundations.
  • Firm attorneys participate in pro bono activities organized by local legal service organizations such as Put Something Back, Florida’s Guardian ad Litem program, the Cuban American Bar Association’s Pro Bono Project, Legal Services of Greater Miami, and the University of Miami’s Bankruptcy Assistance Clinic.
  • The firm has participated in pro bono projects including providing legal assistance to Holocaust survivors seeking additional reparations from Germany; the representation of unaccompanied minors in the immigration system; clients seeking assistance in bankruptcy proceedings; and assisting with restoration of voting rights.

The firm has been a champion of Give Miami Day since its inception. In the past four years, the firm and its employees have contributed over $480,000.00 to support not-for-profit organizations in Miami-Dade County on Give Miami Day.

Bridge to Law School Program

Bridge to Law School Program

The Bridge to Law School Program is an initiative founded by two firm attorneys that integrates academic preparation, mentoring, and professional development to demystify the law school experience and the practice of law for first-generation college students.

Tony Menendez Computer Scholarships

Founded in memory of our partner and friend, Tony Menendez, this scholarship program provides much needed computer equipment to students enrolled in the Honors College at Florida International University.
